My Investment Portfolio
As you can see, I have a pretty low risk-tolerance, especially for my age. The majority of my money is in “safe” or liquid investments, like cash and mutual funds. Given my age, most financial advisors would point out that the stock and mutual fund percentages should be swapped.
The mutual fund I invest in is the TGMNX – TCW TOTAL RETURN BOND. This particular mutual fund has a ten-year average annual return of +7.28% and a low expense ratio of 0.73%. The fund also pays decent dividends of $0.07 per share monthly and has a five star Morningstar Rating.
My gold and silver bullion holdings are higher than average as well, but that’s because I collect coins as a hobby in addition to investing in precious metals.
The stocks are held in my Roth IRA, mostly in a T. Rowe Price target date retirement fund (TRRKX).
The short-term bonds are all I-Series Government Savings Bonds. I buy one $50 I-Bond each and every month.
I provide the above information simply for those who are curious. This is not a recommendation for any of the above investing products, nor a recommendation for your own investing and retirement planning.
